Supporting wayfinding in the Green Economy

GRECO (Green Economy Career Orientation) is a project co-founded by the Erasmus+ programme – It started in October 2023 and involves six partners from Denmark, Italy, Greece, Serbia and Slovenia. The vision of this project is to empower youth with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue careers locally in the rapidly growing green job market.

The project aims to:

  • Enhance the knowledge and skills of youth workers
  • Support young people in their green career paths
  • Improve the readiness of young people to enter the workforce in green careers
  • Strengthen the local economy by employing local talent in green jobs

This project focuses on three essential components:

  • a manual of best practices in the green economy,
  • a targeted online training program for youth workers and
  • an analysis of the local green economy to update the training program to be most relevant.

The manual of good practices will serve as a comprehensive guide for individuals and organisations, showcasing real-world examples and success stories.

On the other hand, the training program will empower youth workers to help young people understand the potential impact of green careers, identify and overcome barriers, and comprehend the business aspects of green projects, while improving their digital skills.

What sets our solution apart is the project’s innovative approach to surveying local job providers and business owners. This allows us to adjust training content to fit local needs, ensuring that young people are fully prepared for the workforce and that the local economy thrives with the employment of local talent.
